There is no pattern or method to the selection of an active shooter’s victims.
There’s no doubt about it—active shooter events are on the rise. It’s easy to become desensitized to these events on the news and to tell yourself that it won’t happen to you. The truth is that active shooter events can happen anywhere and at any time, no matter where you live, work or play.

Law enforcement exists as a safety measure, but when seconds count, the police will be minutes away. It takes law enforcement an average of 6 minutes to arrive at the scene of an active shooter event, once a 911 call is successfully placed. How do you make those seconds count? How do you prepare?

Where Do Active Shooter Incidents Occur?

Active shooter events can happen anywhere—your workplace, the grocery store, your favorite coffee shop, or your child’s school. Do you know the safest way to exit these locations during an active shooter event? Do you know the warning signs of an active shooter? We’re here to help.

Active Shooter Victims

Most Active Shooter Events occur in the workplace and involve a disgruntled employee, dissatisfied customer, or someone with a mission to indiscriminately cause harm and chaos. Active shooters have no pattern or method to their selection of victims. It is futile to reason with an active shooter. That’s why Hawkeye employs the Run Hide Fight methodology to increase your likelihood of survival—and decrease the number of casualties.
What is a High Risk Termination?
Truth be told, it can be any termination that the employer believes may be dangerous or pose a threat to other employees or the facility/ company itself - learn more.

The Active Shooter

The United States Department of Homeland Security defines an active shooter as "an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area." Once the shooting starts, a victim is shot every 15 seconds.
